Apple's own event ran November 28 to December 1, 2025, with gift cards, for example $75 on the iPhone 16 and 16e, and explicitly excluded the iPhone 17 series.

Carriers filled the gap. AT&T, Verizon and T-Mobile offered up to $1,100 off iPhone 17 models, or free equivalents, with eligible trade-ins and qualifying unlimited plans, paid as bill credits over 24 to 36 months. Examples included AT&T up to $700 off an iPhone 17 or $1,100 off the Pro Max with trade-in, Verizon iPhone 17 free with a new line, and T-Mobile with up to four free iPhone 17s on family plans.

Best Buy, Target and Walmart offered trade-in discounts up to $1,100 or $300 e-gift cards with select purchases through about November 30.

Staying on the plan for the full credit period matters, because canceling triggers the remaining balance. Compare the total of plan plus phone, not the phone alone.

No specific carrier, Apple or retailer offers for the iPhone 17 have been announced for 2026. Early deals last year began in mid-November, with the main push around Thanksgiving weekend and Cyber Week.
