Which MacBook Should You Buy?

The MacBook Air with the M5 chip, in 13 inch and 15 inch sizes, is the all-rounder for school, office work and travel. The MacBook Pro line, including the M5 and M5 Pro models, is for video editing, code builds and anything that keeps the chip busy for hours. The 2026 MacBook Neo, with an A18 Pro chip, is the entry-level choice.

Memory and storage are fixed at purchase, so read those lines in the title closely, because a cheaper config can end up costing more when you outgrow it.

Before comparing prices, decide on memory and storage. Eight gigabytes is fine for browsing and documents, but heavier multitasking and editing will want more. Storage cannot be upgraded later on a MacBook, so it is better to buy the size you will need in three years than the one you need today.

When Do MacBook Deals Drop?

Black Friday is November 27, 2026, with Cyber Monday on November 30. Amazon has not announced its 2026 Black Friday dates, but last year's event ran from November 20 to December 1, and MacBook discounts could follow a similar window. Some early deals are already live on Amazon right now.
