What Counts As A Real Black Friday Art Supply Deal?

Art supplies are easy to inflate. A big piece count looks like value, yet a 190-piece kit might be mostly filler pencils and paper. Judge the deal by what you will actually use.

Brand-name professional materials and bundled beginner sets are not the same product, even when the box says artist grade. Student-grade paint carries less pigment, so coverage and color depth differ. If you plan to sell or frame work, a smaller set of better paint usually beats a huge set of weak ones. For practice, volume is fine.

Which Art Supply Should You Buy?

Match the set to the medium you already use or want to try.

TypeExamples in the gridBest for
All-in-one sketching kitCaliart 176 piece, Soucolor 192 packBeginners who want graphite, charcoal and color in one box
Alcohol markersOhuhu 80 and 160 colors, Taotree, Funoff, realcolorIllustration, manga and adult coloring
Acrylic paint markersARTISTRO dual-tip setsRocks, wood, glass and fabric projects
Canvas boardsKEFF multi-size packPractice paintings and classroom use
Modeling clayCrayola Air Dry ClayKids, school projects and no-kiln sculpting

Alcohol markers bleed through standard paper, so pair them with marker pads. If you are buying for a child, simpler is better: a clay tub and washable supplies beat a giant adult kit.

Storage and portability count too. A kit in a zip case travels well to a park or a class, while loose markers in a tray stay on the desk. If you are gifting, pick a medium the recipient has already shown interest in rather than a giant mixed kit, which tends to overwhelm new artists and leave half the pieces unused.

When Do Art Supply Deals Drop?

Black Friday is Friday, November 27, 2026, followed by Cyber Monday on November 30. Amazon has not confirmed its 2026 Black Friday Week dates. If it repeats last year's pattern, which ran November 20 to December 1, the sale window would open well before Thanksgiving on November 26.

Early deals are live now, some with a Limited time deal badge and an end date. Marker sets and craft kits are popular gift items, so the best-selling sets can sell through, and holiday-themed clay and paint kits may not restock. Amazon does not match competitor prices, so there is no point holding out for a store to beat it.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does Amazon sell Blick art materials?

Blick is a separate retailer with its own sales. This page tracks Amazon listings from brands like Crayola, Ohuhu and Caliart.

Are alcohol marker sets good for beginners?

Yes, as long as you also buy suitable paper. Brush and fine dual tips cover most illustration needs.

Is a big art kit better than buying individual items?

Not always. Kits suit beginners, but dedicated sets usually give better quality in the one medium you use most.

When will art supply deals drop?

Early offers are live now, and a bigger wave is likely around Black Friday on November 27 and Cyber Monday on November 30.
